“In college an art professor walked by one oy my paintings and exclaimed, “that looks just like the way Cezanne would have done it!” I quickly went to the library to see who in the world Cezanne was.
It was then I began to study Cezanne.
I painted this trail the way he might have painted it. Starting the canvas with a base of yellow-ochra washes, adding a variety of warm and cool greens, blues, with pinks and salmon colors. Using large flat brushes then a palette knife. It was fun.” — Larry Smith
